A breeders showcase conformation event. Learn more about the Futurity Program and see all the current and past Futurity winners. The word “Futurity” implies looking into the future. In the case of the American Bouvier des Flandres Club (ABdFC) it means a conscientious attempt to insure the future excellence of the Bouvier. Much time and effort has been expended in the past toward the development of the breed as we know it today. The Futurity Program is the means for the continuation of this development and improvement.

The Futurity program began in 1993 and has since become a yearly event designed to showcase Bouviers, their breeders and owners. A breeder or owner can take great pride in a placement in the Futurity. It should be remembered that all of Bouvier pups are bred for excellence, and a placement in this type of competition is indeed a prestigious accomplishment.

Program Information

The Futurity Program Health Requirements were updated by action of the 2021 ABdFC Board. The effective date of those changes will be the 2024 Futurity exhibition year. (That's all litters whelped on or after October 1, 2022.) This needed to be the effective date as nominations had already been accepted for 2022 and 2023 exhibition years due to nomination deadlines.
