Genetic Health Committee Chair    -  June Guido

Mission Statement

The mission of the Health and Genetics Committee is to be active in supporting the Health Foundation in sharing knowledge to enable them to make the best decisions about how funds should be spent for research.

Some health considerations in this breed that is integral to having a healthy dog are:
Subaortic Senosis, glaucoma, hip dysphasia, thyroid dysfunction, cancer and autoimmune disorders.

These are the health disorders for which reputable breeders should test.
Education is the key in learning how to dilute the genes in our breeding

We are just now at the threshold of opening the door to more responsible improved breeding.
